Dear Beachside Family and Friends,
I've never been a gambler. I have played card games that many people wager money upon, but I have never risked financial seed in a game. I cannot consider myself an authority on games of chance, but I do have interest in the psychology behind them. One such game is Texas Hold 'Em Poker, which I have watched on television. Players often risk tens and even hundreds of thousands of dollars solely on their ability to read the intentions of their opponents. The most dramatic moment in the game is when a player goes "All In", putting his entire investment in the game on the line. He may have the cards to win, or he may be bluffing. HIs fellow players must make the decision whether he has the goods or not, and play accordingly, either folding or calling him to reveal his cards.
Even if we are not gamblers, we all have moments when we must decide whether we are "All In" with God. Will we completely trust our lives to Him, or try to bluff? It may be easy to say that we trust Him, but do our actions line up with our words? We know this for certain: God holds the winning hand, and He will call. He says in Deuteronomy 30:19 "I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live" God gives us the choice of life or death, blessings or curses. The decision is ours. Will we stay in game?
The good news is that God is always "All In" for us, and this is evidenced by what He says in His Word. Psalm 103:1-3 tells us "Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not ALL His benefits: Who forgives ALL your iniquities, Who heals ALL your diseases" Our Heavenly Father is "All In" for our forgiveness and our physical healing. He went All In again?t Satan when he put the most valuable thing He had, His only begotten Son Jesus on the cross. The devil called, and God raised Jesus from the dead. GAME OVER! Satan realized too late that what he thought was his greatest victory was his final and permanent defeat. "But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory." (1 Cor 2:7-8) God never bluffs, He always holds the winning hand!
God's will for our lives is prosperity and health. 3 John 1:2 says "Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in ALL things and be in health, just as your soul prospers." He is "ALL IN" for our freedom, prosperity, health, and success. I leave you with this question. Will you be "ALL IN" for Him? "So Jesus answered and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s, who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life." (Mark 10:29-30)
