A major change is coming to the mortgage industry. Beginning September 24, Fannie Mae will require lenders to use trended credit data when underwriting single-family borrowers. Trended credit data gives lenders access to the payments a borrower has made on existing credit accounts for the past 24 to 30 months. The data helps determine if a borrower pays off credit cards each month or if they typically carry a balance from month to month while making minimum payments. The goal is to help lenders make a smarter, more thorough analysis of a borrower’s credit history. As always, I’m here to answer any questions you may have. You can count on me to help. Sincerely, |
