PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP)-- The man police say stabbed and killed Alisa Kinsaul in her homeMonday night, has a past that includes jail time on charges of false imprisonment and burglary.

The charges date back to February 20, 2001. John Bradley Davidson was arrested in Volusia County on charges of false imprisonment and burglary of a dwelling. According to online court records, a complaint was also filed on charges of attempted sexual battery and kidnapping, but those charges were not pursued by the state.

Prosecutors did move forward on the false imprisonment and burglary charges. Details of the case are few, other than the victim wasn't identified on publicly-accessible court records.

Davidson originally entered a plea of "not guilty" to the charges but changed that plea to "no contest" on October 18,2001. He was sentenced to time served and put on four years probation plus one year of community control. He was also ordered not to have any contact with the victim. Adjudication was withheld in both cases, meaning if asked if he had ever been convicted of a crime, Davidson could truthfully answer "no."

According to court records, Davidson spent a total of 128 days in jail on the charges. He successfully completed his probation, which terminated early on April 29, 2004. 

In Bay County, aside from traffic tickets, the only thing that shows up for Davidson in criminal court records is a citation for leaving the scene of an accident with property damage. 

Davidson was issued a citation by Panama City Police for his involvement in a wreck on February 28, 2011 in the Cove area of Panama City. He pleaded "no contest" to the charge about three weeks later and paid a $315 fine and adjudication was withheld according ton online court records.

Davidson is currently in the hospital receiving treatment for unspecified injuries. He's charged with an open count of murder in the death of Alisa Kinsaul in Kinsaul's Cove area home on Monday January 16th.

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP)-- A tip from a citizen has lead to the capture of the man police say is a "person of interest" in the death of a Panama City woman Monday night.

Brad Davidson, was named by Panama City Police as a "person of interest" in the death of Alisa Kinsaul. Kinsaul, 46, was found dead in her Cove area home Monday night. Davidson, 46, was located Tuesday morning by Bay County Sheriff's Office deputies after receiving a tip he may be in the Resota Beach Road area of northern Bay County.

Investigators say when an officer arrived, they found Kinsaul dead in her home. The case is being worked as a homicide. Police haven't released a cause of death. 

Davidson and Kinsaul had been romantically linked for some time. Police are only classifying Davidson as a "person of interest" at this point, NOT a suspect.

Answer: Your closing agent is trying to protect you. The scary truth is that fraud is running wild out there, and the criminals are always coming up with more sophisticated ways to rip you off.

In the latest scam, fraudsters will hack into your real estate or title agent's unsecured email account by either guessing the simple password or buying it from the black market. They will sit back and watch the emails until you are a few days from closing. Then they will send a fake email that looks just like it was sent from the person you trust. However, it will contain false wiring instructions that have you send your funds to their account and not the closing agent's. To make matters worse, fraudulent cashier's checks are so rampant that I don't know of a single closing agent that will accept them anymore.

Fortunately, this is a relatively easy scam to avoid. Visit your closing company and get the wiring instructions in person. If this is not feasible, insist on using a closing company that uses secure, encrypted email. While it can be a hassle to deal with encrypted email, it is your best protection from this increasingly common scam. Not only is your closing company dealing with your money, it also is dealing with your most personal information. You want to make sure that when the company emails this, and stores it on its servers, the company has appropriate information security measures in place. When in doubt, call and ask.

Finally, when you do get your final numbers, call your closing company and confirm that the wiring instructions you received are the correct ones. If you have never heard of your title company except by emails you received, confirm that the phone number you are calling is correct by cross-checking it on the internet.
