Merry Christmas Beachside Family and Friends!
"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: And the government shall be upon his shoulder: And his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God,The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." (Isa 9:6)
About 2000 years ago, an unexpected event occurred in the small town of Bethlehem in the Roman province of Judea. There were a few that were looking for it, but most of the people of Bethlehem were too consumed with their own lives and endeavors to notice.
Although what happened on that Christmas Day was missed by most, the course of the world was changed forever. God's plan for the redemption of mankind was set in motion, and Jesus was born! The small beginning in the manger was followed by a LIFE that so greatly impacted the lives of men that mankind would never be the same. Those who walked in darkness have seen a great light! Jesus Christ, the LIGHT of the world.
When Jesus was born it seemed an insignificant event, yet small beginnings can be followed by great accomplishments. As we celebrate, let's remember that it is the little things that we do that most often bless others. A smile, a hug, or a few words of encouragement can change the lives of those around you. God is masterful at taking what is small and using it for huge impact. Just like He used the baby in the manger, He can also use you. Even if you feel small and unimportant, a big God lives in you. Let him work through you to do great things!
The small child born on the first Christmas Day was part of a Great Plan. Join us Saturday night at 7:00 for our Christmas Eve Service, and learn more about Jesus specific part in that plan. We will worship the Lord in song, draw close to Him during Candlelight Communion, and discover the true purpose of Jesus birth in Bethlehem. It was much different than most think. Find out more this Saturday evening. I look forward to seeing you then, and Merry Christmas to you!
